Daniel Kinka

In his role as Wildlife Restoration Specialist, Dr. Daniel Kinka's primary responsibilities include restoring and monitoring wildlife on Wild Sky Ranches and the American Prairie Reserve, as well as acting as a liaison to neighbors, NGOs, government agencies, and other external entities. He joined American Prairie Reserve in 2018, shortly after completing his doctoral degree in ecology at Utah State University where he studied the use of livestock guardian dogs to promote coexistence between carnivores and ranchers. Prior to completing his doctorate, Daniel worked at Grand Teton National Park as a wolf biologist and a ranger naturalist. He believes that emphasizing shared values of stewardship and love of the land is the best way to foster lasting conservation.
