Jay Sheperd & Arron Scotten
Jay Shepherd has worked in wildlife research and management with state and federal agencies in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Alaska. For the last decade, Jay has been immersed in wolf recovery and reducing wolf-livestock conflicts in Northeastern Washington. He has an M.S. in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana and a Ph.D. from the University of Idaho. Jay grew up in Walla Walla, Washington working on his family’s wheat farm and cattle ranch in Southeastern Washington.
Arron Scotten is a former rodeo athlete who, after serving 20 years in the Navy, came home to ranch after retirement. His service included 5 tours of duty in Iraq and other parts of the middle east. He is a fifth-generation rancher, co-owns the DS Ranch, and manages another ranch. He is also a range rider for the largest cow-calf operation in Washington which grazes on adjacent Federal allotments.
They both love the people and landscape of Northeastern Washington.
